Lee, Herring and Law scoop Chortle Awards

The comedy industry descended en-masse to Cafe De Paris on Monday night to see Stewart Lee, Richard Herring and Tony Law scoop up (most of) the Chortle Awards between them.
The trio won two prizes each with Lee winning the Best Tour award, Herring winning the internet award for his Leicester Square Theatre Podcast, while both Lee and Herring won extra honours thanks to the release of their Nineties BBC Two show Fist Of Fun taking the best DVD title.
For his part Tony Law won best club comic and best show for Maximum Nonsense.
Other winners on the night included The Thick Of It, Radio 4 comedy series John Finnemore’s Souvenir Programme and American comedian Louis CK, taking the innovation award for cutting out the middle man in selling downloads of his shows direct to the public.
Celebrities in attendance included Omid Djalili, Bill Oddie, Harry Enfield, Helen Flanagan, and Lee Ryan and Duncan James from Blue.
